"State Farm does not live up to its commercials. When you need them the most, they are not around. I filed a claim on 9/24/25 after a major leak in our building. I submitted the claim that same afternoon , but nearly a week later I still don’t have an adjuster assigned. In a major city, this kind of delay is unacceptable. The stress, dust, and constant fans have triggered my asthma. Our home is small and now unlivable, unsafe for our two small dogs, and the conditions killed our plants and saltwater fish. I even ended up in the ER from the impact on my health. My HOA’s ServPro team has been inspecting and running dehumidifiers, but without guidance from State Farm, I can’t move forward with repairs. I’ve called multiple times and only get confirmation that “no one is assigned yet.” For a company that advertises being “like a good neighbor,” this experience has been the exact opposite. I am extremely unsatisfied and disappointed. Update: It’s been one month since I filed my claim with State Farm, and there’s still no resolution. The entire point of having home insurance is to be supported when something catastrophic happens to your home — not to be left fighting for basic help. State Farm continues to refuse coverage for personal property that was clearly water damaged, and they’ve been dragging their heels on every part of this process. The situation has been both emotionally exhausting and financially devastating. This has been the most difficult experience I’ve ever had as a homeowner — and the biggest mistake was trusting that State Farm would actually be “like a good neighbor.”"
